Lizzie Burge - Head of Learning Support
I joined The Royal Hospital School in 2012 as Head of Learning Support having previously taught in London and Ipswich. I was a Special Educational Needs Coordinator for eleven years. I did a degree at Edinburgh University and then completed a PGCE at the Froebel Institute in London. I have a Diploma in Teaching Pupils with Specific Learning Difficulties and a Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing; the latter enables me to assess pupils for Access Arrangements for examinations and to carry out diagnostic tests. I am also a Tutor in Blake House.
Sherina McMillan - Learning Support Teacher
I joined the Royal Hospital School in September 2016 as Teacher of Learning Support. I have a background in special education, having worked as a Teacher in two special schools in Suffolk and prior to that I delivered home education programmes to young children with communication difficulties. In addition to this, I have worked in a residential context supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, supported pupils with special educational needs in a mainstream school context and taught English as a Foreign Language. I am a qualified Teacher in the process of completing my training to become a Specialist Literacy Teacher. I have attained a Master of Arts degree in Education, specialising in inclusive education. I am also a Tutor in Blake House.
